About Us
Marc Savard's Vegetable Garden is a paid fantasy hockey league in its fourth season of operation. Teams as far away as Florida have competed at one time or another, though the league now focuses primarily on the Pittsburgh area.

MSVG has a hockey tradition that spans back a full decade, however. In 2009, a dek hockey league called the DHL popped up in Greensburg. After one season of play, it transitioned to the CHL (founded by Commissioner Camdon Porterfield), and eventually to the HHL before disbanding. However, during that 5 year period, hundreds of players made their mark, including Division 1 college talent and an eventual Hershey Bears prospect.

The one-and-only league champ from the CHL, the 2010 Phantoms, had their names engraved on the "Camo Cup", an intentionally-shoddy aluminum "Stanley Cup" copy. The Camo Cup now serves as the MSVG Championship trophy. In addition, numerous current-MSVG GMs were prominent players in the former CHL.

In 2012, Porterfield transitioned from 'real hockey' to fantasy hockey, creating a precursor to MSVG, but found league participation was not up to standard. He rebooted the project into the current league configuration in 2016, and the league has steadily transformed since then.

Since its founding, the league has seen three different championship teams - each of them earning a cash prize, bragging rights, and their names etched into the now-infamous championship trophy.
